Energy & Natural Resources

Global energy markets are undergoing dramatic change, with growing demand from emerging economies, increasing price volatility, growing awareness of environmental considerations, and advances in new technologies. Renewable energy has already reshaped the energy market, while new technologies and developments in the commercialization of hydrogen production are driving investment in new large-scale infrastructure projects.

The current administration is still redefining the “best mix” of energy sources, with renewable and nuclear energy both vying for attention. These developments have also brought renewed attention to complementary technologies, including the optimization of energy consumption.

GR Japan has extensive experience supporting players in Japan’s energy markets, with a particularly strong focus on support for renewables stakeholders involved in solar and wind power over the past five years. We have worked on many projects to help clients navigate the changing energy landscape, including a successful advocacy campaign on the introduction of Japan’s “feed-in tariff” system. We have also been directly involved in the formulation of policy recommendations for new legislation on energy efficiency.
